I have recently begun a stupid endeavor, and it all relates to art sites. For fun, whenever I'm at one for my updates, I click the "browse" button to see the most recent plop of junk. You can find a lot of neato artists this way. At least, that's how I got all my old watches. Nowadays, though...
I've turned my past looksies into a game now. The goal: Find something that isn't cliche. This is amazingly hard.
- First on the check list, find all traditional art. This is hard enough and generally voids most any entry. Digital art can work, too, if its an actual drawing still, but it works better for the stuff on paper.
- Next, ignore all anime. This pretty much eliminates everything. I could probably change that to "cut out all Naruto" and it'd amount to the same thing as that little crap-fest has really seemed to conquer the interest of the simpleminded.
- If anything else remains, which normally there isn't, the last step is to eliminate anything else lacks originality. This can be furries, fan art for over exposed series, or just plain ugly, two-year old style pictures.
- If anything is left, I drop my jaw and be amazed that someone out there still plays it old school. Normally, they wind up getting a watch. However, more than normally, there isn't anyone who applies.
And that's how I disappoint myself and am reminded: everybody gay!
A unique style by an artist who unashamedly encourages others to be unique as well? Consider yourself watched, my friend! I just hope you don't find my gallery to be overtly cliche!
